Honus Wagner Limited Edition Charles Conlon Collection Print (20 X 14)

This beautiful limited edition colorized photographic print of Pittsburgh Pirates baseball legend Honus Wagner was made from an original negative of Charles M. Conlon, the preeminent baseball photographer of his time 1904-1942. This high quality print measures a massive 20 X 24 and pictures a stolid Honus Wagner, the spittin' image of which appears on the 1909 T206 Honus Wagner tobacco card, the most prized baseball card in collecting history of which an example sold in excess of $1 million dollars. The print is numbered 349/975 and embossed with the trademark “Charles Conlon Collection” on the bottom margin. Conlon, while working for the "World Telegraph," "Baseball Magazine" and "The Sporting News" immortalized baseball's greatest players through his photography beginning with his very first subject, New York Giants pitching immortal Christy Mathewson. Conlon's 1910 photograph of Ty Cobb (Detroit Tigers) stealing third base against the New York Highlanders (later became the New York Yankees) is one of the most recognized photographs in sports history. Comes with a certificate that unconditionally guarantees the authenticity of this item.
