Circa 1956 Vintage Signed Mickey Mantle & Whitey Ford Postcard

This old postcard depicting Clearwater Beach, Florida has been vintage signed on the greeting side by New York Yankee team mates Whitey Ford and Mickey Mantle in blue ballpoint pen. Mantle's signature in particular exhibits his rare signature style that is identical in form to exemplars that exist from 1956, his most famous of seasons. 1956 was one of three times in which Mantle won the Most Valuable Player Award and was the season in which he became the only switch-hitter to ever win the Triple Crown Award. Mantle who was distinguished with many honors throughout his career is considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time. Vintage signatures of Mantle that can be accurately dated to his Triple Crown Season (1956) are rare. Ford too had a terrific 19-6 season in 1956 earning his nickname "Chairman of the Board" assigned to him at the time by catcher Elston Howard because of Ford's command of the game. This rare signature postcard is framed with an original 9 X 7 black and white 1961 wire photograph of Mantle and Ford sharing batting tips before a Washington Senators game. Framed. Comes with a certificate that unconditionally guarantees the authenticity of this item.
