Running back O.J. Simpson is seen in practice the week before he was to make NFL history becoming the first man to rush for over 2000 yards in a season, in this lot of two original wire photographs. The black & white photographs measure 7 x 9 and 11 x 8 with original wire story attached to one photograph. The wire story explains the situation, as the Buffalo Bills are in practice for the final game of the 1973 season vs. the NY Jets on December 16. In that final game, O.J. Simpson ran for 200 yards surpassing Jim Brown’s single season rushing record of 1863 yards, set in 1963. Simpson ended the year with 2003 yards and is the only player ever to rush for over 2000 yards in the NFL’s old 14 game season. His 143.1 yards per game average that season is still a single season record. Comes with a certificate that unconditionally guarantees the authenticity of this item.
