Winston Churchill Original Wire Photograph

British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century, with his "trademark cigar" in hand as he prepares to answer questions at a news conference during a visit to Canada is pictured in this original 8.5 X 6.5 black and white wire photograph. The scene is described in a typed note on the verso as taking place at "Rideau Hall, Ottawa" which was the residence of the Governor General of Canada. Other news credits appear on the verso as well. Churchill’s love of cigars is reported to have begun around 1895 when at the young age of 21-22, Churchill was commissioned to report from Cuba on their War of Independence. Best remembered for his leadership as Prime Minister of England and leading his nation through the darkest times of World War II. The original photograph is pictured with a copy of a letter acknowledging an order of 5,000 cigars from the American Cigar Company. Comes with a certificate that unconditionally guarantees the authenticity of this item.
