Vintage National League "No Visitors" Sign

This rare artifact is a vintage sign once posted in the clubhouse or dugout of a Major National League baseball team pertaining to "No Visitors" per "National League Rule 8.2..." and outlines with specificity Clubhouse and Bench visitation rules. The three paragraph rule summation is signed in facsimile "By Direction of National League, Charles S. Feeney, President." Feeney whose grandfather purchased the New York Giants during the early 1900's served as President of the National League from 1970-1986. During his 17 year term, the National League only lost the All-Star Game twice against the American League. Considered a traditionalist, Feeney protected the National League from adopting the designated hitter rule implemented by the American League. His firm approach to directing the National League is apparent in these tough rules as well. Sign measures 9 X 11.5. Comes with a certificate that unconditionally guarantees the authenticity of this item.
