Vintage Display of Original Confiscated Prisoner Weapons

This is a rather unusual display depicting actual vintage weapons confiscated by a prison guard over a 20 year period while working at Attica State Prison, circa 1940's - 1960's. Twenty makeshift weapons are fastened in this 26 X 23 primitive shadowbox enclosed with a fragile glass cover that slides in place. A hand engraved wooden plaque reads "Confiscated Prisoner's Weapons." These weapons appear in various shapes and sizes with many handcrafted from prison materials and/or contraband including many ingenious "shivs," knives and cutters, and a pair of "brass knuckles." Prior to modern penal law and reform, weapons like these were frequently used by prisoners in matters of defense and offense against the guards and one another. Comes with a certificate that unconditionally guarantees the authenticity of this item.
