SOLD Heavyweight Champion Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali) has vintage signed this impressively sized 20 X 20 original photograph printed from the original negative of the famous photograph taken by Neil Leifer of Ali standing over Sonny Liston following his 1st round knockout of Liston during their rematch fight in Lewiston, Maine on May 25, 1965. Just a few months earlier the world was introduced to a new World Champion when Ali defeated the heavily favored Liston with a 7th round knockout in their first meeting in Miami Beach on February 1964. Leifer shot many of his subjects for “TIME” magazine and is considered one of the greatest sports photographers of all-time. Ali was a favorite subject of his with the aforementioned photograph of Clay Over Liston considered to be one of “The Greatest” Sports Photographs of the 20th Century. The photograph itself is an exhibit quality photograph developed to the highest standards from Leifer's original negative transparency with examples this size not even signed by Ali selling for thousands of dollars.
