Mark Messier Signed 1988-89 40th Anniversary NHL All-Star Game Jersey (1 of 30 CCM)

This is one of only 30 such jerseys made that exactly match that worn by Mark Messier of the Edmonton Oilers during the 1988-1989 NHL All-Star Game in Edmonton, Alberta, home to the Oilers on February 7, 1989. The CCM manufactured jersey is accompanied with a handsome 11 X 9 plaque from CCM, engraved with Messier’s name and a serial number from this strictly limited issue. Messier has signed and inscribed the back of this jersey, “Mark Messier 88’-89’,” in black sharpie pen. The jersey displays Messier’s name and uniform number “11” on the back and his uniform number on either sleeve. The right sleeve is also adorned with a special patch sewn on for the “40th NHL All-Star Game.” A large “NHL” crest is sewn onto the front of the jersey with an All-Star crest sewn on the left sleeve. Stars are sewn around the entire bottom of the jersey to complete the distinctive look of this rare All-Star game apparel recognizing one of the best all-time NHL hockey players. Messier won five Stanley Cups playing with the Oilers and later, after 2 seasons playing with the New York Rangers, led the 1993/94 Rangers through the playoffs and finals to their first Stanley Cup win in 54 years.
