Leo Fender 1963 Handwritten Signed Check to Fender Acoustic Instrument Co.
Clarence “Leo” Fender (1909-1991) the foremost inventor synonymous with the rock and roll guitars that bear his name; has handwritten and signed this check drafted from his personal account to his company, “Fender Acoustic Instrument Co., Inc.” dated July 31, 1963 in the amount of $2,800.00 and signed C. L. Fender in black ballpoint pen. Since he developed the Fender Telecaster (1950), the first mass-produced solid body electric guitar, more artists have performed playing a “Fender,” than most any other brand. Among his other milestone product developments include one of the world’s most iconic electric guitars, the Fender Stratocaster (1954); the Fender Precision Bass (1951) which set the standard for electric bass guitars and a Fender amplifier whose design became the basis for the most popular amplifiers that dominated rock and roll music for years. Fender was recognized for his contributions to rock and roll upon his death when he was inducted posthumously into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a unique achievement as he never played the instruments he developed. The check is beautifully framed with a copy of a 1954 patent diagram for a tremolo device to attach and adjust the tension of electric guitar strings. (16 X 20). Comes with a certificate that unconditionally guarantees the authenticity of this item.
