Historic Harlem Globetrotters Madison Square Garden Poster

This is an original colorful Harlem Globetrotters poster from the 1950’s advertising a “One Time Only!” appearance of Abe Saperstein’s Fabulous Harlem Globetrotters “Magicians of Basketball,” at Madison Square Garden. It was only in 1950 that the Globetrotters played their very first game at Madison Square Garden, marking the first time that the Garden sold out for a basketball game. The Harlem Globetrotters were established as an African American basketball team in the 1920’s well before the sport of basketball was racially integrated beginning when Chuck Cooper, a former Globetrotter, signed an NBA contract in 1950. This historic poster measures 14 X 22. Comes with a certificate that unconditionally guarantees the authenticity of this item.
