This signature display of baseball icon Hank Greenberg consists of his vintage signed 4 X 2.5 card displayed with his picture, framed 14.5 X 20. This is an attractive signed display from this superstar who played for the Tigers (1930, 1933-1941, 1945-1946), and one season with the Pittsburgh Pirates (1947). Greenberg twice earned MVP honors and led the American League in home runs and RBI's on four occasions each. Most fans remember his ninth inning grand slam that won the American League pennant for the Tigers in 1945 allowing them to move on to become World Champions by defeating the Cubs in the 1945 World Series. Greenberg was also the first Jewish ‘superstar’ in American sports, garnering national attention in 1934 when he refused to play on Yom Kippur during the middle of a Tigers pennant race.
