Cassius Clay vs. Sonny Liston I (1964) Original Wire Photograph

Cassius Clay, yet to rename himself Muhammad Ali, celebrates his TKO victory over World Heavyweight champion Sonny Liston in this 10 x 8 black and white original wire photograph. On February 25, 1964, Clay, considered the "underdog," took on the seemingly indomitable Liston, who failed to answer the 7th round bell, thus making Clay the new champion. The wire story is printed on the front and the photo credit is stamped on the verso. Framed 17 X 15. Comes with a certificate that unconditionally guarantees the authenticity of this item.
