This is an original AFTRA engagement contract, dated May 3, 1962, for the appearance of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame alumnus Ben E. King on the famous music performance show American Bandstand has been signed & inscribed in blue ballpoint pen by King. Famed American Bandstand host Dick Clark has signed in green fountain pen. King is best known as a lead singer of the rhythm and blues vocal group, The Drifters and the singer and co-composer of “Stand by Me,” a Top 10 hit in both 1961 and later in 1986 when it was used as a theme song to the film of the same name.
