1980 Winter Olympics Participant Patch
This a rare participant patch from the XIII Olympic Winter Games Lake Placid 1980. The 3 X 4 colorfully embroidered patch is a great artifact from these memorable Olympics. Despite American speed skater Eric Heiden winning a record five individual gold medals, the 1980 Winter Olympics will forever be marked by the U.S. Hockey team's dramatic upset victory over the Soviet Union in the semifinal round of the tournament. Today, that win is considered among the most memorable sporting events of the twentieth century. This is a rare and extremely significant memento from that historic winter Olympiad. Comes with a certificate that unconditionally guarantees the authenticity of this item.
