1937 Annual Bowling Congress Tournament Original Photograph and Postcard

This fabulous 20 x 12 black and white original panorama photograph depicts the large assembly of participants in the 37th Annual Bowling Congress Tournament at the 212th Coast Artillery Armory, New York City in 1937. Bowlers are lined up near the lanes in professional fashion with scoreboards and their scorers lining the back walls. Pin boys stand in the "pits" from where they would reset pins and return bowling balls in advance of automated pin-setter machines, which had been invented just one year earlier and would be introduced for the first time in 1946 at the 44th Annual Bowling Congress Tournament in Buffalo, New York. A photo postcard with the same image accompanies the photograph. Comes with a certificate that unconditionally guarantees authenticity.
