1919 Benny Leonard Unique Original Photograph

Lightweight Champion Benny Leonard and fight manager Billy Gibson appear together in this unique original 9.75 X 13 black and white photograph display that has been created from a neatly trimmed original photograph that has been mounted to a matte decorated by hand an inscribed with their names dated February, 1919 from San Francisco. This unique display was probably created to publicize his fight against former world lightweight champion, Willie Ritchie in San Francisco that month. Leonard photographed wearing his boxing trunks, was a hard hitting Jewish fighter who scored 69 KO's out of his 157 wins. Leonard was a prolific fighter after winning the World Lightweight title in 1917 and retired as the undefeated World's Lightweight Champion in 1924. This is a rather unusual original photographic display of this Champion from an era in boxing where very little of such original artifacts have survived. Comes with a certificate that unconditionally guarantees the authenticity of this item.
